Signs That It’s Time For Maintenance:

1. Your Car’s Odometer Has Reached A Certain Milestone

When your car has reached a certain number of miles, it’s time for a service appointment. For example, most carmakers suggest that you have your vehicle serviced every 10,000 miles. So if your odometer reads 9,999 miles, it might be time for a service appointment.

2. You’re Experiencing Problems With Your Vehicle

If you’re experiencing problems with your car – like it’s hard to start, the engine is making strange noises, or the brakes don’t seem to be working as well as they should – then it’s likely time for a service appointment. Bring your car into the shop and let the experts take a look at what’s wrong.

3. You’re About To Head Off On A Long Car Journey

It’s never a good idea to go on a long car journey without having your vehicle serviced beforehand unless you like the prospect of something going wrong when you reach your destination. Instead, make sure that your car is in tip-top condition before you set off. Otherwise, there’s at least one part out of line when it comes to getting back home!

4. Your Check Engine Light Is On

The check engine light is often called the “malfunction indicator lamp” and its purpose is to indicate a problem with the emissions system, fuel cap, or oxygen sensor – basically any issue which could cause environmental problems. So if this light goes on while you’re driving, then chances are your car needs a service appointment.

5. Your Vehicle Is Making Strange Noises

If your car is making strange noises – like the engine is over-revving when it shouldn’t or clunks and clangs when you brake – then it’s likely that there’s something going on underneath the hood which requires attention from a pro! Bring your vehicle in for a service appointment and let the experts take a look.

6. It Has Been A While Since The Last Service Appointment

While most people have their vehicles serviced every 10,000 miles, this isn’t always necessary if they’ve been maintained well throughout that time. However, it couldn’t hurt to give your car a once-over just in case it is running out of oil, for example. Check with your auto service center to find out what they recommend for your particular car model.

7. Your Vehicle’s Muffler Sounds Strange

If you’ve been hearing strange sounds coming from the muffler section of your vehicle, then there might be a problem. This could be indicative of an issue with the tailpipe or possibly damage to the exhaust system that has taken place over time. Either way, bring it into an auto repair shop as soon as possible!
